Smithville Chamber Maid Selling THC to ligislators

Our Chamber President Adena Lewis recently testified at the Capitol building in Austin about the need to keep in place the Texas Historical Commission for rural Texas tourism. Out of the dozens of speakers, she was one of four who was quoted in the Texas Tribune. See what she had to say and read more about the effort to promote rural Texas: http://www.texastribune.org/texas-state-agencies/texas-historical-commission/supporters-plead-for-historical-commission-funds/

Picture this!

While we are between movie productions, it’s a good time for us to get some photos taken of our community to post on the Texas Film Commission and Reelscout data bases.
Volunteers will be stopping by your property to see if you would be interested in having your property listed and a photo taken. We will only be taking pictures of the exterior of residences. Businesses will be asked to have both inside and outside photos taken.
This is a fun way to inventory what we have available. Don’t worry about “sprucing up” the place. Location scouts and directors are pretty clever about visualizing.
There's also a "Property and Props" class on Sunday, Feb. 13. If you’d like to learn more about having your property used in future projects, please attend the Smithville Music and Film Commission’s free educational program, “Property, Props and Productions” on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 2-4 p.m., hosted by 1st Act! Academy at 301 Whitehead St. For information, call (512) 216-2645.
